There are increased numbers of cuboidal to columnar ameloblasts that pile up 4-5 layers thick and form an elevated, irregular, scalloped border separated from the dentin by a thick, deeply eosinophilic, fibrillar, laminated, abnormal enamel composed of irregular Tome's processes and enamel (E) rods and numerous granular basophilic globules.
